NAM and Shell UK have successfully installed the sustainable solar energy system from Coevorden technology company VONK on the Leman Echo platform in the English part of the North Sea. The hybrid power system, which VONK developed for NAM in 2016, consists of 152 solar panels and three containers with advanced technology. One of the containers’ contents is a battery unit used for storing energy. The Leman Echo platform is expected to operate on solar energy 95 percent of the time.
